At CivicSpace we are working on the technology for two social networks for giving. One is an arts community where individuals can find out and support local artists. Another is a grassroots community sites where projects that solve neighborhood problems can be worked on and funded.

For all the tiny organizations out there that don't have deep pockets, the technology behind a globalgiving or donorschoose just isn't accessible. Hopefully CivicSpace's open source solutions can make a difference.
